A mural is any type of painted picture or decorative motif applied directly to a wall, ceiling, or floor of a room – or the facade, entry, or pavilion – of a building or public space. The design is laid out with special consideration given to the spectator's view, the site's use, and to the complete effect of the room's architecture and ambience.
"I enjoy painting on a large human-scale. More than just the physical challenge of painting for an environment (although that is quite compelling), I am intrigued by the way the art-piece engages and interacts with the viewer. The painting becomes more than an object on the wall; it becomes a part of the architecture and the environment. I love that interactive aspect. The art engages the viewer in an intimate and almost conversational way." -RQ
